How to read these numbers
Budget spent is the share of a project’s planned budget that has actually been paid out. It is not a measure of how much of the work is physically built — a project can be most of the way paid and still have months of construction left.
Planned budget is the full estimated cost of the project. Current budget is the portion placed under contract so far, which is why it is often the smaller number.
Figures come from the City’s CIP Tracker, maintained by Public Works, and are republished at the close of each month. A project appears here once Public Works marks it for publication.
